Dependence Is the Real Strength of a Devotee

One of the most consistent messages across these lectures is that progress in Krishna consciousness is not driven by personal capability, but by dependence on the Lord and His devotees. Whether it is the demigods unable to lift Mandara Mountain, Bali Maharaj standing firm despite losing everything, or Lord Shiva willingly drinking poison — the underlying lesson is the same: Krishna orchestrates difficulty to reduce ego and increase surrender.

When spiritual goals are genuine but tasks become difficult, the Lord is inviting deeper dependence, not discouragement. Even simple tasks can become impossible without His sanction, and impossible tasks can become effortless by His mercy. This reframes struggle not as failure, but as divine instruction — thus pause, bow down, and lean inwardly toward Krishna rather than outwardly toward ones own strength.
