Born in the holy land of Bengal, Śrīla Bhakti ChāruMahārāja, while in the prime of his youth, left behind thepromises of worldly happiness to dedicate his life to seeking a genuine guru who would lead him toward the summit of self-realization. His sacrifices and prayers were fulfilled upon his personal meeting with the Founder-Ācārya of ISKCON, His Divine Grace Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda. He immediately surrendered his heart and life to his guru.

Upon their first meeting Srila Prabhupada appreciated a rare and empowered devotion in Bhakti Chāru Mahārāja. Śrīla Prabhupāda entrusted him with the service oftranslating all of his books from English into Bengali, the mother language of Srī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, His associates, and as well as Śrīla Prabhupāda himself. A project Mahārāja dedicated his life to fulfill to its completion.

Soon Bhakti Chāru Mahārāja became Śrīla Prabhupāda's personalassistant as a part of the inner circle of his entourage. "I remember looking at a book on the greatest personalities of this century. To my great disappointment I found Srila Prabhupada’s name missing. Although Srila Prabhupada is the greatest personality of this age, how many people know him as such? Very few people give him the recognition he deserves. So I felt I should do something to make Srila Prabhupada known worldwide. Because audio-visual media are the most effective, most prominent media today, I thought the best way to do it would be to present a film of Srila Prabhupada’s life and his contribution to the world.
